We are a small family owned entity based just outside of Linden, Alberta, Canada.

I decided a few years ago that I really would like to offer to others some of the products that we make for ourselves.  I have made a concious effort to reduce the chemicals used in our homes.  I will never believe that we will live in a truly natural environment as our forfathers did but we can eliminate some things and that is what I am endevouring to work toward.

So taking the plunge I began once again making handmade soaps as I had years before (in the early 70's).  After having working in the field commercially for a few short years I knew I did not wish to have all the chemicals in my home that are utilized in the making of some of the products available on the market today.

Along with that I decided I would really prefer to make my own candles from soy wax and cotton wicking so I did not have to deal with the chemicals of the ones I was seeing in the marketplace. I have made it a policy that I would not put in my candles fragrance oils that carried chemicals that I knew were polluting the air in my home. I have spent many hours pouring over books full of chemicals and MSDS sheets to make sure I was on the right track.
From small beginnings, came requests for the products from friends and neighbours and from there the whole process has become an ever growing business venture.

Along with the soap and candle business we also raise alpaca at our acreage.  I have taken this one step further and have a small processing facility on the farm to take the raw alpaca fibre from raw to roving.
I am able to offer to people alpaca roving, yarns, and some finished products (socks, duvets etc) that I know will leave a very small footprint on this our mother earth.

From my experience with the alpaca both this time and years ago in Ontario,  I have met some wonderful people who gave me the opportunity to offer to my clients the most beautiful teddy bears, bunnies, horses and alpaca stuffies made from alpaca, by ladies in Peru who now have a way of providing for their families thru this business venture. I did have to do some checking for my own peace of mind that these craftspersons were being paid thru fair trade and also that they were not going out and killing these animals strictly for their hides. Once I had assured myself of those conditions we brought them in to offer to our clients with such resounding response that it has really quite amazed me.

I was also able to obtain some beautiful moccasins made by these same people. They are wonderful quality. I have also obtained a few woven blankets/throws made of alpaca. I just can not seem to find the words to describe these blankets to let people know just how beautiful there truly are.

My newest venture is an herbal tea  that I found at a show this past winter.  It is Yerba Mate, made from the Yerba Mate tree in South America. This is wonderfully refreshing and revitalizing herb that is combined with others to make a variety of flavours.   I take it with me to the Markets and am finding that people are returning to let me know how much they enjoy it.  It is becoming very popular with all that I introduce it to.

** I would like to announce that our fibre processing facility is now open the ready to accept your fleeces.  We can wash, pick and card your fleece for you and return it to you in the form of rovings.  You can then enjoy the pleasure of spinning your own fibre without all the hours of prep work before hand.   If you are interested in this service please contact us and we will discuss the options with you.**
